We all know the feeling of being overwhelmed and having too much to do with too little time in the day. Of course, work is one of the biggest contributors to this.
To keep our sanity and creativity, we’ve enlisted Doug Johnson, a local Atlanta yoga instructor, to come to our office and instruct us every Friday. It lets us leave our desks for an hour, stretch, breathe, and relax.
There are many different types of yoga, and the one Doug is teaching us to master is Yin Yoga. This type of yoga entails holding a stretch for 3-5 minutes at a time.
Doug Johnson, founder of Mahapatha Yoga, has been teaching meditation and yoga for over 20 years. He got his start teaching Zen meditation at the Atlanta Soto Zen Center in the early 90s. Later, he was certified to teach Kripalu Yoga by Deva Parnell, the former director of teacher training at the Kripalu Yoga Center. Since getting certified, Douglas has taught well over 5000 yoga classes in a variety of styles including Kripalu; Yin; Vinyasa; Power; Hot; Restorative; Gentle & Meditation.
